"Do wecreate what we observe through the act of our observations?” (230)

ehh, about that. this is such an age-old question.

I think that everything in the world is there to begin with, whether or not we see it or know it's there and that everything has different qualities. People call things what they want to and, for some things, it is common knowledge. Like Roebke said, a blue couch is always blue, but what is blue? what makes something blue? Something is blue because humans say it is, simple as that.

Roebke lost me about three pages into his article. Although I liked physics when I took it in high school, most of what he said was way over my head and was uninteresting. This is Roebke's biggest weakness in his article because who wants to read what they don't understand?

  1. Reading your blog post is so reassuring because I feel the same way. I think everything exists period, not because we observe it. Sure, people may have different ways of observing things and describing them, but everything exists. It not like that blue couch disappears because someone does not see it in one sitting.

  2. I agree and I wrote exactly what you said in my own blog. It was so hard to understand and comprehend. I wanted to just give up on the article and call it day. But i pushed my self through it.It was very difficult to understand, although the point that I got from it was quite interesting.

  3. I really enjoyed reading about this subject matter but ultimately I could not even process half of what Roebke was writing about. Most of his information went right through as I day dreamed throughout most of the article. He needs to write on the level, not of a physician, but of a student. Not necessarily an exact student, but someone who wishes to learn from him that they too can comprehend what he is trying to covey to us.
